SUSTAINABILITY

Animal skin is a by-product of slaughter. The recovery of all parts of the animal that cannot be used by the food industry allows to avoid the creation of animal waste, which would otherwise have to be eliminated, implying further processing for their disposal. The leather industry therefore allows an almost complete and circular recycling of the material discarded during slaughter.

Furthermore, all the leather tanning phases are carried out through processes that allow the recovery and recycling of waste water and tanning waste material as fertilizers for agricultural fields.

The use of animal skin products, for example in the footwear sector, allows the natural transpiration and well-being of the human body, avoids the use of synthetic materials that include processes linked to the oil industry and involves longer times of natural wear of the product in the direction of lower consumption.
